Dr. Cann has always had a passion for empowering children, youth and adults using the vehicle of education. She believes that all children are gifted innately to learn and it is the job of the mentors to tap into each child’s uniqueness. Dr. Cann believes the definition of success is not solely based on what one has accomplished and embraces success’ definition as: ‘success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which one has overcome while trying to succeed.’ [Booker T. Washington]

Dr. Cann knows first-hand the many challenges families face due to personal, societal and economic disadvantages. She, too, had to become an advocate for her own three children while experiencing some of these same challenges. With God’s help, He showed her the way to a better life through education and she is humbled and honored at the opportunity to be a servant leader to show others.
