Maria Singfield earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education from Glassboro State College in Glassboro, New Jersey and a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  She is an accomplished school based and district administrator with over 34 years of experience with Hillsborough County Public Schools. She served as an instructor for students with learning disabilities, an assistant principal at middle and high schools, and a high school principal.

In the Division of Human Resources, she was appointed Department Manager for the Application Center, Office of Teacher Certification, and a liaison between the Recruitment Office and site administrators.  She represented the school district at local and out-of-state recruitment fairs; recruiting instructional support and administrative personnel; guided principals in securing highly qualified personnel to fill vacancies and ensuring compliance with the Department of Education; coached principals with performance improvement plans for personnel and interpretation of the negotiated contracts. Prior to retirement, she served on the Hillsborough County School District Charter School Committee.

Maria is a passionate advocate for children and senior citizens.  She is also an active member of her church and has served in leadership positions with various organizations in the community.
