ENROLLMENT RESPONSE NOTICE

Enrollment Response Notice

Thank you for choosing ICan Charter Academy for your student. We are excited that you have chosen to apply for admission into our school. ICan has an open enrollment process on a “first come, first served” basis. All students will be required to adhere to the local School District and State of Florida policy regarding student health examinations, residency and legal document requirements. Students may withdraw at any time and enroll in another public school as determined by the local School Board’s policy.

Students will be considered for admission without regard to race, religion, national origin, gender, or physical disability. If the number of applicants exceed the capacity, class, or grade level, then a lottery will be required. Preference may be given to siblings of students currently enrolled in ICan Charter Academy, returning students in attendance through subsequent grades and children of employees or Board Members. In addition, preference may be given to students residing within a "reasonable distance" of the school, as well as, according to the signed and approved District-Charter contract.

As a school of choice, ICan Charter Academy requires “active” parent/caregiver participation in their child's education. A Compact must be completed by the parent/caregiver for each student attending ICan. This compact will address the expectations of the school, parent and students. These expectations are consistent with ICan Charter Academy’s mission, guiding principles and purpose. ICan Charter Academy may deny re-enrollment to a student whose parent/guardian has failed to fulfill their obligations as outlined in the Compact or the Student Handbook.

A member of the admission’s team will reach out to you directly to guide you through the application process. An official Letter of Acceptance must be received to ensure your student has been “completely” enrolled for the school year.

Students who live less than two miles from a school are not eligible for transportation based on the State Board of Education Rule 6-A 001(3).

Uniforms will be required for all ICan students.
